'It's a big injustice': Miss Colombia beauty queen tells of her 'humiliation' at being wrongly named Miss Universe - and reveals she's turned down $1million to star in a porn film.
The beauty queen wrongly named Miss Universe has told of her humiliation at being forced to hand over the crown to Miss Philippines.
Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, 22, opened her heart of the moment the announcer said they had picked the wrong winner.
She revealed: ‘It will be forever on the video that the Miss Universe was Colombia and I felt the same even though it lasted just three to four minutes.
'It was a very big injustice. It was humiliating for me and for all people in Latin America in the auditorium,' she told Colombian media, W Radio.
'I have been disconnected, I haven't received any phone calls, just a few people have been able to contact me and it is because I needed to grieve for what happened that night.
'It is been so hard for me. I had always been dreamed about being Miss Universe. I dreamed to give that joy not only to my family but also to all Colombia, but I have to continue my life.’
A fortnight ago the world had watched as Sofia Vergara lookalike Miss Gutierrez stood on stage in Miami to be crowned Miss Universe.
But four minutes later her smiles turned to despair as host US comedian Steve Harvey sheepishly announced they had the wrong winner.
Harvey took to the stage, the shame already evident on his face, and told the crowd: 'Folks, I have to apologise. The first runner-up is Colombia.'
Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach stared wide-eyed at the audience, her lip quivering as Miss USA whispered into her ear and she realised what exactly those words meant.
'Miss Universe 2015,' Harvey then clarified, 'Is Miss Philippines.'
Miss Wurtzbach joined Gutierrez on stage as they both stared into the audience in shock.
Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega gave her fellow countrywoman a comforting pat on the back before removing the $30,000 crown and placing in on Miss Philippines head.
The telecast then came to an abrupt stop, cutting without credits or allowing Miss Philippines to take her first walk as Miss Universe.
Speaking of that moment, the 5ft 10in model Miss Gutierrez added: 'I thought It was a joke when Steve Harvey said it was a mistake because he is a comedian in USA, but when he actually said I was not Miss Universe everybody was in shock.
'Paulina Vega did not know what to do and she asked me, and I told her take me off the crown. She did it, she put the crown onto the new Miss Universe and she pulled me and said, "Let's go now".
‘I was worried about my parents when everything happened they were very sad. They were destroyed inside. They have been my support they are calm now.’
She added: ‘Everything comes back to the original owner. I would accept with honour. The crown was first mine I put it on first.
But she said, she won’t let anyone take away the fact that she was announced as the winner first.
'I feel like the second Miss universe in a row for Colombia and the third one for the history of our country.’
After the furore, the model said she went home to Colombia to spend Christmas with her family.
She said she has been inundated with offers for TV shows and modelling shoots – and has even been offered $1million to star in a porn film.
It is been incalculable the amount of offers I have received. Not all of them have been the best ones,’ she added.
'The worst is the porno video. I haven't received a formal offer but I would never do it for one million dollars. For an incalculable amount. No, I am joking I will never do it. No my parents will kill me.'
Of her feelings towards the Miss Universe competition, she went on: ‘I wouldn’t interested in participating in any other contest or be part of any event of Miss Universe.
‘I have already closed that episode of my life.’
She also reacted to speculation that the whole episode was a publicity stunt by the Miss World organisers.
‘I don't know anything about it but of course there are rumours. If they wanted to gain ratings, they got them.
‘But I know what I saw and I can't say anything else about it because I don't have proof.'
