A pattern is now established. Every time, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari’s academic credentials, specifically, his lack of a WAEC certificate, are questions, he organises a photo opportunity with classmates from his past. Shortly after being declared winner of the 2015 presidential elections, which was marked by the scandal of his inability to present a basic secondary school leaving certificate, Buhari met with a group of old men who were identified as his classmates in secondary school. Buhari Removes Ibe Kachikwu As GMD Of NNPC, Appoints Kacalla Baru.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new board for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. Dr. Ibe Kachikwu has been removed as the group managing director and he is replaced by Dr. Kacalla Baru. Kachikwu is now the chairman of the board of the state-owned oil corporation. Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina announced this in a statement on Monday, July 4, 2016. He said that the new board is composed of the following persons. Until his appointment, Dr. Baru was the group executive director for exploration and production of the NNPC. He is a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. Baru has been the chairman of NNPC Anti-corruption Committee constituted by the former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Maduekwe since September 2004 till his appointment Monday. A. Governor Udom allegedly ordered the demolition of a thatched house belonging to a 90-year-old man.

A thatched house belonging to a 90-year-old man in Awa Iman, was allegedly demolished on the order of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel. Awa Iman is the countryhome of the governor. "the thatched house was pulled down to provide an expanse of land for the construction of a Visitor's parking lot for the newly constructed mansion of the Governor in his hometown. It was gathered that the 90year old man who has been crying over the loss of his house is now putting up on the veranda of one of a Pentecostal Churches in Awa iman in Onna Local Government." Nigeria police get 7 new Deputy Inspectors-General.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of one Assistant Inspector General and six commissioners to the rank of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police to the management team of the Nigeria Police Force. The approval is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Ikechukwu Ani, the Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission. The officers are: 1. AIG Shuaibu Gambo - DIG Department of Finance and Administration. 2. CP Joshak Habila - DIG Department of Operation. 3. CP Maigari Dikko .- DIG, Department of Logistics and Supply. 4. CP H. M. Dagala - DIG, Department of FCIID. 5. CP Emmanuel T. Inyang - DIG, Department of Training and Development. 6. CP Ntom Chukwu (DIG,- Department of Research and Planning. 7. CP Folusho Adebanjo - DIG Department of ICT. 8. CP Abdul Buba - AIG Force Secretary.
