Bertha Omankowski and Roger Decugis wed on a tightrope 60 feet above a crowd of 20,000 gathered in Toulouse, France.
Schmidt and Pary balance before each other while the mayor of La Rochelle shouts the marital vows from a ladder below them.
The happy pair argued that as there are a lot of hazards in marriage, it was a good plan to get the hardest one over first.
They would have liked to stay up there for their honeymoon, but it was not convenient, as they had to come below for the reception.
